Tender Description
Far North Queensland Ports Corporation Limited, trading as Ports North (PN), operates the Port of Cairns as well as a number of other trading North Queensland ports including Karumba, Thursday Island, Cape Flattery and Mourilyan.
Ports North has identified upgrades to selected assets as an Early Works project within the Cairns Marine Precinct development. This Early Works project is aimed at delivering additional in-water vessel maintenance capability.
Key aspects of the CMP EW project include:
• Provision of additional common user wharf structures to facilitate in-water vessel maintenance, including a new 85m long dual-face wharf at Smith’s Creek 3 and a new 50m long single face wharf at Smith’s Creek 2
• Provision of additional facilities to reduce congestion between freight handling and in-water vessel maintenance operations
• Provision of associated infrastructure and services
Ports North is seeking tenders for the supply of steel piles for the project.
