Barcaldine - Ash Street Stormwater Drainage
Tender ID: 474572
Tender Details
Tender Description
The stormwater drainage to Ash street will be improved by moving the kerb and sidewalk with 750mm into the existing road area for the 1st 70 meters from the Beech St intersection, Southern side. Kerbs are moved to ensure existing tree roots are not damaged during the construction process. The road from the centreline, adjacent to the relocated kerb-line, will be reconstructed to revised levels forming a shallow drainage channel (draining in an Eastern direction) close to the kerb-line. Although gradients are relatively low, the above measures should significantly improve the current stormwater drainage concerns.
Whilst a Contractor is appointed to perform works in this area, other concerns and maintenance issues will also be addressed. The current Ash street surfacing (seal) between the Beech St and Maple St intersections is close to the end of its design life with localised damaged areas clearly visible. The resealing of this section of the street will also be included in the scope of works for the Contract. Existing line markings and parking area demarcations will be repainted according to the new design. The resurfacing of this sections of road will ensure that the removal of existing road markings will not be required. The replacement and reinstatement of road signs is also included in the Contract scope of works.
