This Registration of Interest (ROI) issued by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry/Principal to the Contract) is an open invitation to Contractors (Tenderers) to submit a Registration for Southern Minor Works Panel (up to $500k) (the Contract Works).
It is intended that Tenderers shortlisted from this ROI will be invited to participate in a subsequent closed Request for Tenders (RFT) however the Ministry reserves the right to award a contract directly from this ROI.
The proposed Panel will be an alternative fast track option for those Ministry-led and School-led projects as procurement requirements for processes under $500,000 which can be quite onerous and transactional whilst not delivering much value. Given the broad nature of works, the Ministry is initially looking for general Contractors, however depending on how much volume goes through the Panel, the Ministry may create sub-categories of works.
The main anticipated benefits by establishing the Panel are reduction of transactional and repetitive procurement processes for both the Ministry and Contractors, implement Contract performance framework, enable quick response times for reactive works and provide a pipeline of future works. The proposed Panel recommend the adoption of direct appointments for any project within the Panel’s value threshold.
