Kuirau Park Pedestrian Bridges Renewal

⁠⁠⁠The Contract Works are for the renewal of three pedestrian bridges at Kuirau Park, Kuirau Street, Rotorua.
The works comprise of building 3 pedestrian bridges with concrete ramps or abutments. The work will be undertaken in a geothermal area and the stream the bridges cross leaves Kuirau Lake at approximately 90oC. Care will be need to be taken by the contractor to mitigate risks to staff and the public.

The preference is for bridge construction to be completed off site and hiabed or craned into place, reducing the risk of staff working over this geothermal stream and minimising disruption to the shared path users, with the bridge being closed for a maximum allowance of 20 calendar days. Council must be notified 2 weeks prior to works commencing so the public can also be notified.

The Contractor is responsible for all works detailed in the technical specification.

A mandatory site visit is a requirement of participation in this tender process. A site visit will be held on Friday, 29th October 2021 at 10:00am at Kuirau Park. Tenderers are advised that the Principal reserves the right to vary the scale of the works to fit within the constraints of the available funding for this project.
