1. About our requirements
The Service Delivery Office (SDO) requires the services of Project Managers with a proven record of accomplishment and experience in delivering business projects in government or large-scale organisations.
As a Project Manager, you will manage defined projects or work streams to deliver outputs and products in accordance with budget and quality standards with our delivery partners, clients and staff.
2. About the SDO Project Delivery Office
The SDO is a leader in providing services under the Whole-of-Government Shared Services Program. The SDO presents a unique opportunity to be involved in developing innovative service delivery arrangements, with an approach to collaboration and sharing of resources that has the potential to add value to not only for existing customers but to set the scene for new ways of working across the APS. We are committed to consistently improving service standards through innovation, systems and process enhancements.
The SDO Project Delivery Office (PDO) provides project management, business analysis, business architecture and solution design services for 15 government agency clients, servicing almost 12,000 employees, in order to enable them to increase productivity and concentrate on their core business.

4. Service Requirements
The SDO requires suitably experienced and qualified project managers to work on a range of business projects.

7. Deliverables
Within the SDO, Project Manager/s are required to work within the SDO Project Delivery Office (PDO) to achieve set project deliverables, provide on-going guidance and deliver excellent relationship management for business projects. Project Manager/s will also be required to assist in undertaking governance related activities and development of work orders (including Statements of Work) to assist in client related project requests.
Reporting to the SDO Director- Client, Strategy & Governance, and the Assistant Secretary - Client, Strategy & Enablement Branch, the Project Manager/s, will be responsible for the successful delivery of project deliverables against the planned target dates as reflected in project artefacts.
These roles will also involve collaborating across our various project teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and success of projects as well as being customer-facing which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Engage, scope and develop work orders (including Statement of Works) with clients and internal SDO Technical and Business areas to support new project or technical enhancement requests
• Scope, manage and execute projects that align with the SDO’s strategic priorities
• Plan, to a detailed level, projects from inception to go-live
• Identify critical dates in the plan
• Track, manage and report status on all projects
• Identify resources required to deliver the project and any resource gaps
• Raise risks and issues plus the effective management of them
• Manage stakeholders for the project with effective levels of engagement
• Collaborate with other project managers where there are project dependencies
• Develop PDO project capability and governance
• Resolve problems and roadblocks with the ability to analyse options.
• A minimum of a Baseline security clearance, held with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), is required upon contract commencement.
8. Delivery and acceptance
Delivery will be assessed on the agreed project schedules and milestones. These will vary for each project.
The schedules and deliverables will be discussed regularly with the SDO Director Client, Strategy & Governance and the Assistant Secretary Client, Strategy & Enablement Branch.

Adherence to the Department of Finance security principles and policies.
11. Experience
Desirable Criteria:
• Demonstrated knowledge in project management methodology and experience in managing and delivering digital projects
• Demonstrated experience in engaging and collaborating with a broad and diverse range of government and industry stakeholders to create trust and confidence with our business partners to deliver projects
• Ability to build and embed project management capability and project governance to deliver quality outcomes
• Ability to write project management and governance documentation against pressed timeframes
• Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a high-paced, responsive environment
• SAP/ERP experience highly desirable
• Knowledge of /or working within a Public sector Project Management Office (PMO) model
• Project management qualification
• Public sector experience
• Ability to work in the Department of Finance culture
