Senior Network Engineer

⁠⁠⁠The position IT Platform Specialist – Specialisation: Networks Tech lead is responsible for supporting, maintaining, designing and enhancing IPA infrastructure and operational services for core business and significant projects. These services are delivered through an expanding hybrid multi cloud, that in parallel, is rationalising legacy systems to embrace new technologies.

This role requires an enthusiastic person with high level of experience in networking, security, cloud computing, multi data centre technologies and system engineering. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated experience and ability to quickly to adapt new technologies, design, develop, test, and deliver changes as required in a fast-paced agile environment.

The role also requires high level skills in troubleshooting advanced technical issues which span multiple technology areas. The ability to share knowledge through documentation, developing and improving processes and procedures is also key. The IT Platform Specialist will work closely with other technical teams both internal and external the section and liaise with project teams and project managers across the organisation.

The responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer will include but not be limited to

• Working under direction of the Platform Manager to support, maintain, and enhance IPA Network Infrastructure.
• Provide IT specialist advise of proposed system designs and solutions.
• Point of escalation for critical network related incidents.
• Working as part of a team to deliver outcomes and share knowledge.
• Demonstrates attitudes and behaviours responsive to workplace change (including participates in and encourages others to participate in change and contribute to successful outcomes).
• Improves organisational performance through effective engagement with and management of risk within relevant sphere of influence.
• Establishes clear expectations and creates an environment to achieve stated goals and objectives, takes ownership and honours commitments

IP Australia acknowledges that the COVID situation is constantly changing and that lockdowns may be called at any time which will impact on a contractor’s ability to attend IP Australia’s physical premises. As such, IP Australia will provide a teleworking agreement which will allow services to be delivered from the specified personnel’s home address. The teleworking agreement must be executed before services can commence.
