SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATION
The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.
PURPOSE OF WORK
The works required under this contract will cover the design and manufacture of a replacement pressure vessel and associated internal pipework for the polisher regeneration plant with the option to install the vessel on completion of manufacture.
The work is separated into two separable Portions, the second being optional as follows:
a) Portion 1 – Design and Manufacture of ‘Like for Like’ Polisher Regeneration Plant Cation Vessel ID registration 221-U-796 (Lump Sum); and
b) Optional Portion 2 – Install and Commissioning of Polisher Regeneration Plant Cation Vessel ID registration 221-U-796 (Lump Sum).
LOCATION OF SITE
The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.
EXTENT OF WORK
a) The Contractor must design and manufacture a replacement pressure vessel for the polisher regeneration plant cation vessel ID registration 221-U-796, inclusive of all the internal piping and fixtures, to Australian Standard AS1210-2010. Drawing VX323035_05 is to be used as the reference document for the design details of the polisher regeneration plant cation vessel however the Contractor must confirm all vessel measurements onsite prior to manufacture of the replacement vessel. The overall size and configuration of the replacement vessel must match that of the existing.
b) The Contractor must design and manufacture all associated internal piping and fixtures to match that present in the existing polisher regeneration plant cation vessel. The Contractor must confirm all measurements of existing piping onsite. The final design of the piping and fittings must be based on the onsite measurements taken.
c) The Contractor must remove the existing polisher regeneration plant cation vessel ID registration 221-U-796 and install and commission the replacement vessel and associated internal piping and fittings. The install must occur in a time frame of 72 continuous hours from issue of the PTW. This is the window of time for which the polisher regeneration plant can be out of service.
INSPECTION OF SITE
All Tenderers must attend a mandatory Virtual Pre-tender meeting to be conducted at 10:00 am on 30th September 2021 via TEAMS. Companies who do not attend the mandatory virtual Pre-tender meeting will not be eligible to submit a Tender.
Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).
It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all documents pertaining to the works prior to the virtual site inspection.
Tenderers wishing to attend the virtual pre-tender site inspection must contact the request manager at least 24 hours prior to the meeting to register their intention to attend
