Colac Area Health (also referred to as the Principal) invites the Tenderer to submit a Tender for the replacement of the existing roof-top chillers, including acoustic enclosure and an aging airhandling unit at Colac Area Health at 2-28 Connor St, Colac VIC 3250 (Colac Area Health Site) whilst ensuring facility and site remains operational with minimum downtime.

Colac Area Health meets the needs of more than 30,000 people in the Corangamite, Colac Otway, and Surf Coast Shires. It is a unique, integrated health service encompassing Aged Care, Hospital Care, Community Care and many other services.

Colac Area Health has installed temporary chillers to service its ongoing cooling demands in response to the imminent failure of its existing air-cooled chillers. The chilled water system includes several critical and non-critical areas, including Operating Theatres, Accident & Emergency, Day Procedure, Acute & Recovery Wards, CSSD and administration areas.

The condition of the facilities Polwarth multizone AHU has also been identified as end-of-life and is being replaced along with its associated MSSB.

The general scope of works involves the replacement of the Colac Area Health facility’s two air-cooled chillers including their acoustic enclosure, the installation of two new primary chilled water pumps, the temporary removal of the Polwarth AHU plantroom roof, the replacement of the existing multizone air handling unit and all associated make-good works.

It is intended that the two existing air-cooled Summit Matsu chillers be replaced with two new chillers to provide chilled water for the Colac Area Health facility.

Replacement chillers and airhandling units are freely available and have been procured and will be dlivered to site.

It is intended that the Mechanical Contractor will be the Principal Contractor and is required to enter into a Contract for Minor Works (VPS MWC July 2021) and provide all necessary subcontractors, delivery methods, staging, coordination and interface works to provide complete and operational systems as fit for purpose for Colac Area Health.
