Audit & Risk Committee

⁠⁠⁠Council seeks nominations for an independent member on our Audit and Risk Committee.
The key objective of the Committee is to provide advice, as part of Council's governance obligations, to the Council and Chief Executive

Officer to ensure:
· Effective recognition, identification and management of risk;
· Improved credibility and objectivity of internal and external financial reports;
· Compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and use of best practice guides;
· The effectiveness of an annual audit program.
Suitably qualified and experienced individuals are sought from relevant industry backgrounds. Experience in financial reporting and auditing, risk management and corporate governance and some understanding of local government would be highly regarded.
The term of appointment is for three years commencing 8 November 2021. On completion of this term, the appointee can apply for re-appointment for a further three years.

Expressions of interest must be lodged by close of business 30 August 2021 using the nomination form available from Council's website or municipal office. The position will attract an allowance.
