Technical Project Manager

⁠⁠⁠IP Australia has a major program of work that is responsible for uplifting IP Australia’s Cyber Security posture that resides in the Section. The program is leveraging advances in technologies and aligning IP Australia with mandated whole of government cyber security Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) requirements.

The Security Uplift Program (SUP) program of work has several technical project managers responsible for delivering discreet pieces of work that each contribute to lifting the overall Security posture of IP Australia’s technical environment.

The Essential 8 project within program is tasked with raising the maturity level within the agency for each of the eight mitigation strategies documented in the ACSC’s currently published Essential Eight Maturity Model. The project is currently in the implementation phase for raising the maturity levels across all eight strategies.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) project within the program is tasked with migrating legacy services to the new AzureAD solution ensuring integration with existing systems. The legacy system will then be decommissioned. The project has commenced solution design and migration work has commenced.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the IAM project and certain aspects of the Essential 8 project.

Under the direction of the Security Uplift Program Manager, this role will:
• Plan regular release cycles and facilitate regular scrum meetings to track progress of tasks against the several project schedules;
• Manage project scoping and planning activities;
• Negotiate and co-ordinate resources across multiple areas to deliver project outcomes;
• Manage procurement and engagement activities with potential external suppliers/vendors;
• Provide regular status reports and written documentation to the Program Manager as required.
• Work closely with Technical SME’s to deliver project outcomes.
