Opportunity to demonstrate and grow your administration and alumni engagement skills 30 hour per week, part-time contract to 30 June 2022 Based in Nauru The Program Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term awards funded by the Australian Government, offering the next generation of Nauruan leaders an opportunity to undertake study in Australia and the Pacific region.

Scholarships have long been a key component of Australia’s development assistance to Nauru.

The Australia Awards Nauru program is managed by Tetra Tech International Development in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The program supports all stages of the scholarship cycle including promotions, application management, selection, placement and mobilisation of awardees, and engagement of scholars and alumni for Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) and the Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships (AAPS).

The Position As part of a tight-knit and collaborative team, the Administration and Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for delivering administration tasks at all stages of the scholarship cycle as requested by the Awards Coordinator.

The role is also responsible for coordination and delivery of alumni engagement activities in Nauru consistent with the Australia Global Alumni Engagement Strategy.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Responding to enquiries from applicants and other parties throughout the Awards cycle;
  • Ensuring effective systems of data capture and record keeping are in place;
  • Promoting relevant alumni engagement activities and events; Showcasing alumni achievements;
  • Actively engaging with newly returned alumni to ensure suitable reintegration support;
  • Supporting the Awards Coordinator where required.

The Person

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector and will possess knowledge of Alumni engagement practices.
  • You will have experience coordinating the delivery of activities within large programs and will be a strong communicator, who is able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified within a related field and will possess excellent report writing and presentation skills.

This position is locally engaged and reserved for National Citizens of Nauru.
