Tender Description
In order to support the provision of reliable and safe care, Austin Health seeks to develop, and implement systems that prevent, manage and control infections and antimicrobial resistance; reducing harm for patients, consumers and members of the workforce; and achieve good health outcomes for patients. In alignment with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard 3 - Preventing and Controlling Healthcare-Associated Infection, Austin Health are required to have a traceability process for semi-critical and critical reusable medical devices (RMDs) that is capable of identifying the patient, the procedure and the RMDs that were used for the procedure. Although AH currently engages a supplier to perform electronic tracking services on the Austin Hospital site for critical neurological RMDs only, tracking of all other critical and semi critical RMDs is currently only able to be manually performed and not to the instrument level.
As such, AH is now requesting information from suitably qualified and experienced proponents that wish to partner with AH to provide a breadth of electronic RMD traceability services for expansion across all three sites of the organisation. In addition to this, AH is looking forward to the other benefits of implementing an electronic tracking system, such as improved workflow, inventory management and asset tracking.
