Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Loddon Shire Council is seeking an expression of interest from a suitably experienced Caravan Park Caretaker to operate the day to day operation of the Wedderburn Pioneer Caravan Park.

The park is on Crown land with Council appointed as Committee of Management and the park has a solid visitor base established.

Council will consider remuneration in the range of $47,000 to $60,000.

Role:

  • the hours of this role are not set
  • the role is outcomes driven
  • the appointed caretaker has the option to live onsite in their own van, or reside with-in the local community
  • there are no set office hours, the caretaker and or their representative, will be required to attend site at least once per day to undertake the above duties and to collect fees
  • the caretaker will be required to attend to calls to the park mobile across a 7-day period but is not required to open the office for pre-determined hours.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • completion of grounds-keeping tasks, to ensure a high standard of appearance throughout the Park including maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees, painting etc.
  • completion of maintenance tasks across all Park facilities, including maintenance of plant, equipment and the Park's overall features and aesthetic appearance
  • daily cleaning of amenities buildings and common areas
  • reservation of cabins and sites including tasks such as responding to phone calls and emails from prospective guests
  • collection of fees
  • cleaning of cabins
  • compliance with WHS guidelines for own safety and of others
  • undertake administration tasks in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures
  • on-call and out of hours responsibilities across 7 days
  • ensure the Park is compliant with all safety, statutory and brand standards.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • A sound understanding of Building and Grounds maintenance.
  • Able to work independently with sound and organised work practices.
  • Great people and relationship building skills.
  • Grounds and Maintenance experience.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • On-call availability over a 7-day period.
  • Previous experience in caravan park preferable.
  • Computer knowledge a must with experience using a booking platform such as RMS9+ an advantage with a sound knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Fit and active.
  • Good communication skills.
