Tender Description

Jemena is currently planning to upgrade its existing Port Kembla Lateral (PKL) pipeline capabilities to strengthen the security of gas supply for the east coast gas market.

The proposed Port Kembla Pipeline project will connect to Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) proposed Port Kembla Gas Terminal and transport gas to local customers via Jemena’s Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP).

The EGP was commissioned in 2000 to supply natural gas from Victoria to the Sydney region. The EGP is a DN450 pipeline with an MAOP of 14,895 kPag.

Jemena is also undertaking the EGP Expansion and Reversal Project to reverse flow the Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) south of the Kembla Grange Meter Station (KGMS), to allow the supply of gas into the Victorian and New South Wales gas markets from a new LNG import terminal to be based at Port Kembla.

There is expected to be a total of up to 500 MMSCFD of gas being injected into the EGP from the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) at Port Kembla.

The Scope of Works includes the design, manufacture, test and deliver the Ultrasonic Flow Meters, associated pipe spooling, documentation, commissioning spares and tools, technical advice and calibration.
