Tender Description

The Port Noarlunga Sports Ground is used by the Port Noarlunga Football Club, Tennis Club, Netball Club, Cricket Club, and the Southern Districts Gridiron Club. The site facilities are also used by other community groups such as surf clubs, fitness clubs and for community music and social events such as the South Coast Raw and the Blues Festival.

The site includes two club buildings as well as a public toilet block and separate shelter structures for spectators along the edge of the oval. The age, compliance and condition of these facilities no longer meets recognised sport and building standards, restricting club growth and participation.

To alleviate these issues and address the changing needs of the clubs and growth in the region, the City of Onkaparinga is working collaboratively with the site’s users to develop a new multi-use sporting complex. The redevelopment proposes new and refurbished buildings to be located directly adjacent to the sport areas to improve visibility, connectivity, and functionality.

This project seeks to:

  • Demolish the existing club room building in its entirety once construction of the new facility is complete and convert the space into a car park for the new facility
  • Demolish the existing playground, storage shed, gazebo, player box, spectator box and any other site structures or services overlapping the proposed building footprints
  • Renovate and extend the existing tennis club building, converting it into a canteen, office, and change facility for courtside sports
  • Construct a new multi-use sports and community building adjacent to the oval
  • Install soft landscaping around the building perimeter
