Adult Mental Health Centre Corio

⁠⁠⁠The Centre is intended to trial approaches to offering immediate-, short- and medium-term episodes of care and service navigation to connect people to ongoing Mental Health services, with the inclusion of integrated Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services where needed. The Centre will assist adults seeking help in times of crisis, or as needs emerge, to have access to on-the spot care, advice and support provided by a variety of health professionals without needing a prior appointment.

The Centre is to be highly visible and accessible providing a 'no wrong door' entry point for adults and their natural supports access to a responsive service meeting the immediate needs of the individual, prioritising assessment, linkage to further support and information and care. Services are designed to empower, support, and improve their psychological and physical health, and social and emotional wellbeing.
Long term care is not a design element of The Centre, however the utilisation of an episode of care model allows the delivery of evidence-based support to cover the short to medium term needs and is further enhanced by clinical judgement and each individual need.
