Tender Description
The OTP Assessment Subcommittee, Paediatrics and Faculties, seeks expressions of interest from AFOEM, AFPHM and AFRM Fellows.
The Overseas Trained Physicians (OTP) Assessment Subcommittee, Paediatrics and Faculties, plays a key role in the assessment of OTPs by determining which physicians and paediatricians can work in Australia. Members of the Subcommittee can have a real impact on health service delivery and quality of care in the Australian health system.
Key responsibilities:
- interview OTPs to understand their qualifications, training, and experience
- determine and modify requirements for OTPs to reach the level of an Australian-trained physician or paediatrician, in accordance with guidelines and policies set by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) and RACP
- provide expertise about OTP assessment to the MBA, College staff and other College Committees
- monitor OTPs progression to Fellowship
- advise on key initiatives, projects, and educational developments requested by the OTP Unit or Professional Practice
Members are appointed to the Subcommittee for a 2-year term with the option to renew a further 2 terms.
The Subcommittee holds 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney and up to 11 videoconferences per year.
