EOI for $85,000 Public Art Commission at Peterson Street Reserve, Highett

⁠⁠⁠Bayside City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from artists to submit preliminary ideas for a public artwork/s that will be located at Peterson Street Reserve, Highett, Victoria.

The Reserve is positioned centrally within the Bayside hinterland. It is a local park of around 4.4ha in area which comprises 2 sporting ovals, a playground, the Peterson Youth Centre and a skateboard park and a number of freestanding pavilions.

The park is bound by Peterson Street to the north and west, Highett Road to the south and Telford Street to the east. The park is entirely surrounded by residential land with the only major road to the south. The park has a strong youth, sport and recreation patronage.

The preferred location for an artwork is 100m towards the west along Highett Street in close proximity to the skate park as identified in the analysis diagram at Attachment A of the EOI documents.
