IT Security Technical Officer

⁠⁠⁠The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. As primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals. The AAD also has responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard and McDonald Islands.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads the Information Services Division (ISD) and is responsible for the management and delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services across Australia and overseas for the department. The CIO develops the department’s ICT strategy, with ISD responsible for ICT systems and associated capability to deliver business outcomes for the department, working in conjunction with key ICT service providers.

The Client and Cyber Services Branch is responsible for supporting our client’s ICT needs and Cyber Security.

The Department is looking for a motivational individual to join our Cyber Security team to deliver:
• The development of solutions and patterns that are re-useable, repeatable, and fit for purpose
• The delivery of cyber uplift activities as relating to security and infrastructure projects
• Implement Essential Eight mitigations as per network and infrastructure requirements
• The development and implementation of modular automation artefacts that can be re-used in future application deployments
• Ongoing review of existing solutions and identification of opportunities for improvement
• Solutions for logging, monitoring, and maintaining the security of network and ICT infrastructure as required.

This role is based in the Kingston, Tasmanian office working remotely alongside staff in the Canberra Office.
