⁠⁠⁠The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, competent Technical/Business Writer to join our Vet Data Streaming Program team.

The Vet Data Streamlining Program is a multi-phased IT program. We are currently completing Phase One - developing a proof of concept system, which will be the foundation for a national rollout of the ICT system.

Your role is to:
• Produce the required technical, system, testing, reporting and training documentation
• Assist with the procurement processes and produce necessary technical, administrative and approval artefacts for the tender for the national rollout of the VDS ICT system

Your work will inform and contribute to the ongoing development and a National rollout of the VET Data Streamlining system.

The requirements and/or responsibilities:

Production of high level and detailed design and requirements specifications, with input from the subject matter specialists.

System-level procurement experience with the Digital Marketplace to assist with the procurement processes for software and hosting systems, including experience in the production of all necessary tender artefacts including but not limited to tender documentation, procurement plans, evaluation plans, approvals, Purchase/Work Orders, Delegate briefings and probity plans.

Assist with the production of QA documentation - software test plans and reports, defects reporting.

Project artefacts including project plans, and documentation appropriate to the project management and software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile sprints, etc).

Production of user documentation - instructional and technical manuals, assessments, installation guides, user manuals and training guides.

Production of system documentation – product and process documentation appropriate to the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including architecture specifications, process flows, user interface descriptions, glossaries and dictionaries, for BAU support.

Skills with organising content into a document to be easily understood by a non-technical audience.

Skills in research and discovery to produce technical and training documentation from a variety of resources.

Experience working with, and producing content for, software developers, project managers, system testers, solutions architects, business, and systems analysts.

Communication and liaison skills to reach out to stakeholders and subject matter experts in the various education jurisdictions.

Craft technical manuals, test reports, progress and exception reports, and other project artefacts for the appropriate audience.

Follow through to get comments and feedback from stakeholders and technical specialists on draft documents and follow through to completion of final versions.

Prioritise and schedule the work, liaise with the project leads and project managers.

Craft required reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Produce accurate, concise, useful, clear, and complete technical documentation.

Liaise with the communications and change management team for stakeholder engagement and for training documentation requirements

Extensive skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio to produce documents, presentations, diagrams and infographics.

Excellent English language, writing, and communication skills.
