ABOUT THE CITY OF LAKE MACQUARIE:
Lake Macquarie is one of the fastest growing cities in the Hunter, and one of the largest cities in New South Wales. Lake Macquarie's population is fast approaching 200,000 and is the Hunters largest city, accounting for 37% of the Lower Hunter population. Lake Macquarie is the fourth most populous city in NSW, and the eighth most populous city in Australia and the population is expected to grow by 60,000 to 70,000 people over the next 25 years, which will create a demand for 36,500 new dwellings.
ABOUT THE TENDER:
Council is seeking an experienced and qualified contractor to carry out the Design and Construction (D&C) for the proposed Hunter Region Sports Centre (HRSC) Warm-up Facility and Existing Track Resurfacing. The proposed project aims to secure Class 1 World Athletics Compliance for the Centre.
The Hunter Region Sports Centre project is the combination of two key elements:
1. Design and Construction of a Warm Up Facility to include:
- - 4 x 100m sprint lanes, running through to a 90-degree bend to suit the area,
- - A single hammer / discus throw area, inclusive of cage and throwing circle,
- - A single shot-put throw area
2. The re-surfacing works of the existing 400m track and associated elements such as long jump, high jump, javelin and throwing area's.
REGISTRATION: Tender documents may be obtained by registering on the e-tendering portal at (see option below) for the cost of $195.90 GST inc.
A hard copy of the documents may be obtained at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point at a cost of $204.30.
ENQUIRIES: Tender enquiries should be directed to Natalie Nissen, the Project Officer via the online forum. Completed responses can be submitted via the electronic tender box, by facsimile transmission to (02) 4958 7257, or in a sealed envelope. The envelope is to be endorsed with the Tender number, title, and closing date and can be mailed or placed in the Tender Box located in Councils Administration Building, Ground Floor, 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point by the nominated time and date.
NON MANDATORY BRIEFING: Tenderers are encouraged to attend the Non-Mandatory Briefing 27 April 2021 on site 45 Stockland Drive Glendale at 10.00am
TENDERERS TO NOTE: In the preparation and submission of the tender and without limiting the Tenderers obligations, the Tenderer shall submit a tender which includes all Schedules including the Tenderers Declaration Schedule and any other declaration required completely filled in and signed, together with any other documents, information and details necessary to make the tender complete. The tenderer shall not submit a tender without a firm intention to proceed nor engage in any form of collusive practice not directly or indirectly canvass support from an elected member or employee of Council at any time.
