Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠We require two experienced, pro-active and versatile people to work on integrating, developing and sustaining research data and information management solutions.

The Application Support Technologists be working with other DST staff and contractors to deploy open source solutions, develop and implement customisations, integrate with existing systems and ensure sound release management and operations.

They will require knowledge and experience with the following:
• Deployment of open source solutions including customisation
• development in Python, Java and JavaScript
• Previous experience in automating simple data flows and integrating with REST APIs
• working in a Defence or research environment

Additionally, knowledge and experience with the following are highly desirable:
• web development
• authentication technologies such as SAML and Active Directory
• data and information repository solutions, such as CKAN and Dspace
• research data management lifecycle and associated tools such as ReDBox

The Application Support Technologists will work with research data and information management staff, ICT staff and researchers. They will liaise with vendors and developers in the open source community to integrate and support research data management tools.

The Application Support Technologists will be responsible for:
• Integrating RDM tools within the DST environment
• Deploying and supporting RDM tools
• Documenting code and infrastructure
