Expressions of interest: independent member for Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee

⁠⁠⁠We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be appointed as an independent external member of Council’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (the Committee).

The Committee currently comprises three independent external members and two councillors.
This position would suit a person wishing to be involved in community or public service duties on a substantially volunteer basis with any reasonable and actual expenses paid by Council.

Responsibilities include the ability to understand relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, contribute some time to study and understand papers provided, analytical objectivity and judgement skills, and the ability to express opinions and ask questions.
Preference will be given to local residents with a strong background in one or more of the following:

• finance
• corporate or public sector governance
• audit
• legal
• project management or management generally
• administration.

• Your EOI should include your relevant experience, details of interest and contact details of at least two referees.
