Wattle Range Council (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for Beachport Bowling Club Building Upgrades, Beachport SA 5280 (the Goods).
Site Location: Beachport Bowling Club, 52 Railway Terrace, Beachport SA 5280.
The Beachport Bowling Club Building, formerly the Railway Station (1879-1956), has been previously redeveloped from its original construction as the Beachport Railway station into its current format as the Beachport Bowling Club. The building has been a major sports and recreation facility for the town and region for over 60 years. There have been issues in the past with water leaking into the building with some of these issues resolved by the bowling club members; however, other areas of the building have not been addressed.
This project focuses on addressing the critical compliance and maintenance issues, besides upgrading some amenities in the facility, so that the building can remain in active community use. The scope of works essentially include:
- Structural repairs and reroofing over the old station area and lean-to stone section
- Salt damp treatment to stone walls
- Electrical upgrade
- Replacement of rotten timbers weatherboard cladding and ancillary timbers such as barges and fasciae
- Improve stormwater drainage around main building
- External repair and repaint including repointing and refreshing of stone joints
- Provide for disabled amenities including a new unisex disabled toilet
- Replacement of floor tiling to the Northern amenity area
- Upgrade of exit signage and location of fire extinguishers
- Replacement of all overhead light fittings
The maintenance schedule (supplied with this RFT) for all areas in the building identifies many minor repairs. Refer attached herewith the following documentation:

Council encourages the Tenderer to propose their own means and methods to building repairs.
The Council will enter into a Contract for the Purchase of Goods with the successful Tenderer. The contract term will be for the duration of the project delivery including the 12 months defects liability period.
The Contractor under this agreement will be responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of the required works within the agreed budget and the timeframes negotiated with the Council. The Contractor will be required to supply all materials, undertake all works, and fully reinstate all disturbed areas.
Turnaround time on this project is tight, with the construction required to be complete by 31st August 2021. Works are expected commence early-April 2021 and are required be completed and invoiced by 31st August 2021.
Given this is a funded project and there is limited budget available, Council reserves the right to reduce the scope of work to suit the available budget. The Tenderers will provide a detailed pricing summary as part of the Tender to ensure Council receive full value for money.
