Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Transport (Department) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified supplier to provide an Accident Allocation Solution Services ("Services").

The Department is responsible for managing the allocation of Tow Trucks to accident scenes in the Melbourne (controlled) area in accordance with the Accident Towing Services Act 2007 and Accident Towing Services Regulations 2019. Towing allocation is limited to motor vehicle accident scenes within the controlled area and does not include breakdowns, tow-a-ways or non-accident stolen vehicles

Services include:

  • Provision of a towing allocation centre that includes a call centre (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) to provide a service to customers who have had an accident within the Melbourne Controlled area and to dispatch calls to tow depots.
  • Formal allocation of accidents on a roster basis to attend accident sites within this area.
  • Development of a computer software system and algorithm capable of providing the services to both customers and depots within the Melbourne Controlled area and is a fair / share system for the towing licence holders.
