Expression of Interest - Ravensthorpe Cultural Precinct

⁠⁠⁠The Shire of Ravensthorpe is seeking expressions of interest for prospective contractors for the delivery of an infrastructure project. This project is the Ravensthorpe Cultural Precinct (RCP), initiated by the Shire under the Building Better Regions Programme.

The Shire is seeking submissions from suitably qualified and registered builders experienced in engineered timber framed (LVL) construction to undertake the building works to deliver the design approved by the Shire and developed by Peter Hobbs Architects. The aim is to pre-register suitable contractors as part of a select tender process.

The building is ~ 1800 m2 and consists of 3 distinct buildings, interconnected by veranda's and housed under one roof. One of the new buildings will also require a break-through to the existing Shire building and the interface and integration of the two spaces. Works also include landscaping, carpark, playground and outdoor amphitheatre.

The project is to be constructed over several existing lots facing the main street and located within the centre of town.

The building is to be constructed of a prefabricated timber frame; floors variously of timber on stumps, or concrete floor slab on fill; corrugated iron roof; with external walls primarily clad in Yellow Stringy Bark timber; and a mixture of timber and plasterboard internally.

The successful Contractor is to work with the Shire and their contractors in the delivery of elements of the project via direct works, and will be responsible for the coordination and installation of the timber elements that the Shire has procured and that will be delivered to site by others.

The successful Contractor is to deliver the design documentation as Head Contractor and will be engaged under the Australian Standard 4000 - 1997 General Conditions of Contract.
