Cleland Wildlife Park Koala Hold & Facilities Upgrade Stage 1 Concept Design

⁠⁠⁠Cleland Wildlife Park are seeking savvy Design experts to prepare concept designs that deliver exceptional outcomes through innovation and value for money improvements.

There are a broad range of facilities that require conceptual design and cost estimates including a new koala hold and housing facility, nature playground, signage, visitor flow/touch points, as well as upgrades to amenities and to our multipurpose education facilities. These concepts will serve to inform DEW of what is achievable with the available funding and brief the detailed design stage.

• Offers visitors exceptional experiences and opportunities in all seasons and operating times
• Improves visitor, staff and Koala comfort and operational potential with efficient air conditioning and good design principles to maximise location features and climate.
• Enables CWP staff and volunteers to operate safely and efficiently
• Meets the specific needs of Koalas in both front and back of house
• Meets and showcases modern energy efficiencies through good design principles, solar power and exploring other recycling technologies
• Incorporates toilet facilities for visitors to the Koala Hold experience
• Includes IT and Wi-Fi upgrades to enable:

1. Efficient social media operations by guests and staff
2. ‘Tap and Go’ donation facilities
3. Real time capture of visitor numbers

• Meets relevant bushfire standards - National Construction Code of Australia [NCC] and Australian Standard 3959 (AS3959) ‘Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone Areas’
• Is designed to enable future expansion and facility improvements
• Complies with all other relevant Standards, Codes and legislative requirements
