Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Glen Innes Severn Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from the community for small-scale community projects that meet one or more of the Disaster Recovery Outcomes. Funding is provided through the Commonwealth Government Bushfire Community Resilience and Recovery Fund. The total amount of this Community Grant program round available is $78,012 Ex GST. All projects submitted need to be completed by 29 June 2022.

Disaster Recovery Outcomes:

  1. The needs of vulnerable groups are addressed in disaster recovery
  2. The community is aware of the disaster recovery processes
  3. The community can express its changing disaster recovery needs
  4. Community members are aware of the risks of future disasters
  5. The community has improved capacity and capability to respond to future disasters
  6. Business and not-for-profits have in place adequate mitigation practices for and threats
  7. Government, private sector, civil society and organisations are engaged in for preparedness and management of the recovery;

Example projects include:

  • Regional social events and digital communication initiatives that support social recovery, commemoration and improve community connectedness;
  • Programs and initiatives that support community recovery and well-being including support for connectedness, improved identity of place and cultural heritage;
  • Community education programs to improve regional knowledge and resilience in response and preparedness to future disasters and how to be better prepared for hazards into the future;
  • Neighbourhood and community strengthening activities that focus specifically on capacity building, and knowledge building and sharing.

Requirements for submitting and EOI:

  1. Provide detailed project description and key activities;
  2. Detail how the project contributes to the disaster recovery outcomes outlined above
  3. Provide project milestones with descriptions, including estimated start date and estimated end date; Projects submitted would need to be completed by 29 June 2022; Project timings should not commence until after 30 April 2021.
  4. Provide demonstrated risk management and appropriate mitigation strategies associated with the project;
  5. Provide details of the amount of funding requested noting there is no minimum amount and maximum total value of an application should not exceed $15,000 excluding GST.
  6. Provide a budget and attached quotations from local suppliers and contractors; and
  7. Provide a Declaration of Conflict of Interest.
