Ground Level Potable Water Storage Tank – Swan Hill

Nature and Location of Works:

Lower Murray Water (LMW) will be issuing a tender in December that engage a contractor to build a single Ground Level Treated Water Storage tank in Swan Hill with a volume of between 3ML and 6ML.

Tender will be a detailed Design and Construct Tender including Civil, Structural and electrical work.

Contractors will be required to develop detailed designs for their tank with flexibility of tank materials. LMW is seeking value for money and optimum performance from tank materials. LMW’s preference of tank materials is Concrete, Welded Steel, Glass Fused Steel, Steel with Polyethylene Liner, or a combination there of. To be refined in the RFT.

Detailed site drawings for design purposes will be available with the Project Specifications at the Request for Tender stage.

The contract will be delivered as a D&C Contract under AS4300.

Scope of works will include:

• Construction of a circular Ground Level Potable Water Tank.
• All required Earthworks and Foundation works.
• DN600 MSCL Inlet Pipework of approximately 50m and tiein to existing onsite inlet pipework installed via open trenching.
• DN600 MSCL outlet Pipework of approximately 40m and tiein to existing onsite outlet pipework installed via open trenching.
• DN600 MSCL overflow/scour pipework of approximately 60m, including Surge Pit, installed via open trenching.
• Install of Automated inlet control valve and pit.
• Electrical and control systems work’s for connection of level sensors and the automated inlet control valve.
• Ancillary works necessary to complete and operate the works.
• Development of “TieIn plans” for connection of new infrastructure to the live network.
• Testing and commissioning of the new infrastructure

Minimum Certification Requirements or Technical Capability requirements:

To have experience in the construction of Large Ground Level Tanks, Civil Construction Works and Project Management proficiencies.
