Tender Description
Liverpool City Council is publicly exhibiting the draft Review of Environmental Factors (REF) Statement for the proposed upgrade of Governor Macquarie Drive between Newbridge Road and Alfred Road in Chipping Norton to a four-lane divided road. This Statement was prepared to determine any potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed upgrade.
The proposed works, aimed for completion by December 2021, include the construction of a four-lane divided road with demarcated parking lanes on both sides of this section of Governor Macquarie Drive.
The works also include right-turn movement restrictions at the Balanada Avenue intersection and shops near the Alfred Road intersection to allow left-turn movements only.
The nearby Nuwarra Road and Balanada Avenue intersection will also be reconstructed to allow left-turn movements only. This is to reduce impact of right-turn movements at the intersection of Governor Macquarie Drive and Balanada Avenue.
This project is funded by the Australian Government and aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve travel time and road safety.
A copy of the REF Statement and relevant documentation are listed below and are also available to view during business hours at Council’s Customer Service Centre (33 Moore St, Liverpool), Liverpool library, Moorebank High School and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Moorebank.
