The scope of mechanical services includes supply, installation then testing and commissioning of central chiller plant plus heating, ventilation and air conditioning and smoke control to all associated buildings. Controls are to be via a centralised BMS. The mechanical trade is to be the lead services coordinator for all above-slab services – that is the lead federator of the 3D model in accordance with the John Holland Digital Engineering Management Plan (DEMP). Specific scope for Mechanical includes the following components:
• Central chiller plant including cooling towers and pumps;
• Chilled water pipe and pit infrastructure to reticulate chilled water to all buildings. Inclusive of associated trenching works;
• Design responsibility for co-ordination of all services trades (plus with structure and with Architect) for all above slab services. Use
and update 3D site and building models which are then to be used for production of workshop drawings;
• Design and provide all secondary support structures required to support HVAC plant;
• Submission of workshop drawings, samples and sample technical data for review and acceptance;
• HVAC to all buildings inclusive of all electrical works associated with mechanical plant;
• Interface with and modification of existing SQGP mechanical systems;
• Compressed air, plus in medical unit medical gases, tool air and vacuum;
• Smoke management plus lead subcontractor for testing/ commissioning fire matrix;
• Centralised Building Management System (BMS) inclusive of all field wiring. Integration into site wide communications infrastructure. Interface points being data point at each MSSB.
• Cold and freezer rooms;
• Submission of Operation and Maintenance manuals; and Comprehensive maintenance during defects liability period.
