Supply & Delivery of Meals

⁠⁠⁠Warrnambool City Council invites submissions for the provision of meals for Council’s Meals on Wheels service.

The delivered meals service provides a nutritious, appetising and culturally appropriate main meal to eligible people who are assessed as being nutritionally at risk. The provision of meals is designed to support people’s desire to remain living independently at home. Delivered meals are one option for people who are assessed as nutritionally at risk or who have decreased capacity to prepare their own meals.

Council provides The Victorian Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (‘HACCPYP’) program targeted at people aged under 65 and Aboriginal people aged under 50 and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (‘CHSP’) which provides entry level support to those over the age of 65 or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 50. These services help people live as independently as possible in the community. Services can include domestic assistance, personal care, respite care, delivered meals (Meals on Wheels), and home maintenance.

The successfule contractor will be fully responsible for:

• the production of meals for MOW, including all labour, materials and equipment (unless otherwise provided for in the tender document);
• ensuring food safety regulations (including appropriate food temperatures) are met from meal production, throughout the delivery of the meal to arrival at the client’s home;
• the management of the MOW service, including liaison with funding bodies, promotion and development of HACCPYP/CHSP policy, management of volunteers, the client assessment and review function will be the responsibility of Council.
