NOTICE: Bridge Safety Barrier Upgrades

⁠⁠⁠It is planned that this Tender will be released on 27 October 2020 .

GMW is providing forward notice of a Release of a Tender for the engagement of a Contractor that is pre-qualified in the VicRoads’ G2-GF Category to undertake bridge safety barrier replacements on four bridges over the Stuart Murray and the Cattanach Canals, on the Murchison – Goulburn Weir Road, Murchison, Victoria with new approach and on-structure safety barrier systems that are compliant with AS5100-2017 and the VicRoads Design.

The Safety Barrier Installation Contractor will be required to coordinate and undertake the following;

• Contractor is to be listed on the VicRoads pre-qualification register in the G2‑GF category,
• Establishment of camps as required,
• Dial Before You Dig checks,
• Proving of underground asset locations,
• Liaising with other affected utility providers to protect assets by performing works and observing designated asset clearance offset distances or relocate affected assets as required. (A Telstra service is known to exist in at least three locations),
• Provision of all materials and consumables required to undertake the Works,
• Demolish any fencing as required and as agreed with GMW (GMW will reinstate)
• Establishment of any Safe Work structures required to undertake the works,
• Demolish existing barriers and install new barrier systems.
• Provision and approval of any traffic management plans (via the local Council),
• Co-operation with any Council requirements,
• the installation of temporary traffic barriers,
• stop/go personnel and/or
• automated traffic control systems,
• possible road or lane closures depending on final scope of contracted works,
• Road opening permits as required with contractor to pay road opening permit fees,
• Make good all road shoulder work areas to leave site(s) tidy and formed in such a way as to not restrict roadside drainage flows (generally in accordance with Council’s IDM drawing no.: SD 255),
• Return any Armco elements being removed to GMW’s Cussen St Tatura depot.

Designs require that the installation of the Post-installed fasteners shall be undertaken by an AEFAC certified anchor installer.

The contract will be based on the terms of the Victorian Public Sector Minor Works Contract.
