Tender Description
The District Council of Yankalilla invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of the upgrade of the Ford Crossing at Essington Lewis Drive Rapid Bay. This project incorporates the following broad scope of works;
- Construction of a new raised culvert crossing for vehicles and pedestrians
- Construction of lead in road works
No onsite construction works are to commence prior to Wednesday 27th of January 2021 as to avoid Summer School Holidays. Site surveys and some preliminary works may occur prior to this date.
There is an existing low-level crossing that is to remain open, during the construction period to provide access to the existing School, Campground and residential properties in the locality
The Crossing is near a recorded cultural heritage site. A Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) has been development and signed by the Council and the relevant Traditional Owner representatives. It assists the Council and Contractors in the management of previously recorded sites and provides measures to manage previously unrecorded sites, objects or remains that may exist in the project area. Given the content in the CHMP it will be provided to contractors, intending to make a submission, upon email request.
