Gympie Regional Council’s Heritage Advisory Committee is seeking to appoint new Committee members. The Committee seeks reasonably qualified and experienced people able to volunteer their time to contribute to the following objectives of the Committee:
- Encourage public interest and understanding of issues relevant to the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage within the Gympie Region;
- Provide recommendations to Council to guide its decision making about development applications that involve heritage issues;
- Encourage conservation focused management of places and objects of cultural heritage significance;
- Encourage Council and others to keep appropriate records of places and objects of cultural heritage significance;
- Advise Council on the content of Council’s Local Heritage Register;
- Assist in the development of projects relevant to heritage within the Gympie Region;
- Disseminate information about funding programs that may assist in conserving and protecting the Region’s cultural heritage;
- Advise Council on cultural heritage issues raised by the community, the State or Federal Government; and
- Applicants must be able to attend monthly meetings.
Submissions must detail relevant qualifications and/or experience, how you can contribute to the Committee’s objectives, and demonstrate availability to attend monthly meetings.
