Tender Description
Taupo District Council (TDC) has recently been awarded funds from Crown Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to develop its town centre based on its adopted Commercial and Industrial Structure Plan (CISP). This procurement is intended to award works to a suitably qualified Urban Designer to assist with shaping the vision and design philosophy of this work as well as delivering two of the four significant work packages in entirety.
TDC's intent with appointing an urban designer for the Taupo Town Centre Transformation project (TTCT), is to find a consultant who will work proactively with TDC and a select group of consultants in delivering TDC's first 'shovel ready' project. A unique set of parameters enclose the project, with a constrained end date (completion of project and
commissioning) of November 2022, prior to the Half Ironman World Championships in Taupo in December 2022, as well as an all-inclusive set budget of $20.6M + GST.
It is envisaged that the successful respondent will be responsible with helping to define the final scope of our Urban Design requirements and subsequently realise this scope from concept to detail design ready for a nominated contractor to price and build.
Please note that TDC are only interested in working with Urban Designers who are affiliated with NZILA.
