Inverter Energy Systems Monitoring and Control Trial

⁠⁠⁠The Scope

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for the provision of:

• Inverter Energy System (IES) Controller (hardware and device software)
• Export/Import Monitor
• Communications links between the IES Controller and:

                 IES
                 Export/Import Monitor
                 WP Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) (supplied by WP)

The IES Remote Control and Monitoring system (RCMS) minimum capabilities must include:

• Control of net output real and reactive power;
• Monitoring of real power transfer, reactive power transfer, phase voltage and frequency at the customer connection; and
• Cyber security measures shall be considered as part of the overall system design.

Optional Requirements

• Adjustment of IES power quality response settings (volt-var, volt-watt, etc.); and
• Adjust of limits for sustained operation (voltage, frequency, etc.)

Registration Requirements

Suppliers are required to respond to the following for the ROI submission:

• Demonstrate track record and capability in delivering Inverter Monitoring and Control Systems in relation to the high-level Scope requirements stated above.
• Reference from at least three customers who have been offered similar services.
• Safety, Health & Environment information to be requested as part of this exercise.
