Provision of General and Specialist Fuels (Bulk and Drummed)

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) brings together Victoria’s planning, local government, environment, energy, suburban development, forests, emergency management, climate change and water functions into a single department to strengthen connections between the environment, community, industry and the economy.

DELWP has requirements for the provision of specialist (burn-mix) and general (unleaded and diesel) fuels to assist with planned burning operations and in response to bush fire activity. DELWP has historically blended its own “burn mix” to assist in the lighting of vegetation during planned burning operations. The burn-mix is decanted into a handheld drip torch and an operator walks through vegetation with the mixture dripping from the torch - while ignited.

DELWP currently utilises the following delivery options for the supply and storage of drummed unleaded fuel, drummed diesel fuels and drummed or bulk specialist fuels – burn-mix:

• Drummed supply - maintenance of a state-wide network of caches of 200ltr drums of Diesel, Alpine diesel, ULP and Burn-mix;
• Bulk supply – supply to Melbourne and Regional Hubs of Diesel, Alpine Diesel and Burn-Mix. 

A non-mandatory virtual tender briefing is expected to be held on the 26th August after the release of the tender. Vendors are strongly advised to attend sessions to thoroughly familiarise themselves with the scope of work.
