RFQ re Vegetation Clearing in Vicinity of Power Line Conductors

⁠⁠⁠Warrnambool City Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified & experienced contractors for Vegetation clearing in Vicinity of Power Line Conductors.

The Works include vegetation clearing in vicinity of power lines in the declared area of the Warrnambool City plus the townships of Allansford and Bushfield / Woodford.

Council’s requirement is to prune Code 55 trees (where vegetation is touching or likely to touch conductor), Code 56 trees (where vegetation is in the clearance space of conductor as defined by the 2015 Regulations and is not a Code 55) and Code 21 Trees (the next year the vegetation is anticipated to grow within the clearance space, vegetation likely to enter the clearance space in the year 2021) for a 1-year clearance plus regrowth.

The Contractor must provide labour, plant, supervision, equipment, fuel and all other items necessary for the performance of the Services.

Staff undertaking the work must be suitably qualified, competent, and experienced. All staff must comply with “Electrical Safety Rules for Vegetation Management Work near Overhead Power lines by Non-Electrical Workers”

Carry out works as identified in the audit in accordance with the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2015 and Code of Practice for Electric Line Clearance, (the green book ) within the Category 1 & 2 (where applicable) areas, to the satisfaction of the Contract Supervisor and in accordance with AS 4373 Code.

The Contract Supervisor reserves the right to alter any works during the course of the Contract and any alteration to the works by the Contractor must be approved by the Contract Supervisor. All works must be to the satisfaction of the Contract Supervisor.

The Contractor is to familiarise themselves with Council’s current “Electric Line Clearance Management Plan”
