Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠ Members have knowledge or background in conservation, heritage, local government, fishing, tourism, Aboriginal matters and park management, or qualifications relevant to the protection and conservation of the property.

The committee comprises 11 members; three local community, three science-based, two indigenous, two broader community and a chair. Vacancies currently exist for science/technical, broader community, indigenous and local community positions.

Members will be appointed in their own right and not as representatives of organisations and will serve terms of two or three years with eligibility for reappointment. Where appropriate, members will be paid sitting fees and allowances.

The role of the committee is to provide advice on the protection, conservation, presentation and management of the Shark Bay World Heritage Property from a local and broader community viewpoint and also from a scientific management and research perspective.
