The Huon Valley Council has been operating the Huon Lawn Cemetery for 50 years. Council has recently undertaken a review and developed a Huon Valley Lawn Cemetery Masterplan to identify needed improvements to infrastructure and the amenity of the site to satisfy the Council and community's expectations.
Vacant land has been identified which could be sold to provide an opportunity for the development of funeral facilities (such as an onsite chapel/reception area and crematorium). Therefore, Council is calling for expressions of interest for the purchase and development of the site from appropriate legally established funeral service providers and cemetery managers.
