Overview
The Department of Health (TAS) is seeking to initiate a Request for Tender to engage a suitable building contractor for the construction of the new Northern Mental Health Precinct at the Launceston General Hospital, 52 Frankland Street, South Launceston ('LGH').
About
The Northern Mental Health Precinct is being delivered as part of 'Stage Two' of the broader Launceston General Hospital Precinct Masterplan.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Construction of the new Northern Mental Health Precinct at the LGH
- Delivery of a mental health in-patient unit to replace the current Northside Unit in the LGH main campus
- Provision of essential community mental health services, including a 30-bed dedicated urgent care unit, a Recovery College and a Safe Haven
