On completion of the Lance Creek Water Connection (LCWC) project the northern townships of Korumburra, Poowong, Loch and Nyora will be connected to the Lance Creek WTP supply system. This interconnection works will transfer treated potable water to the Korumburra catchments and will therefore render the water treatment plant at this site redundant.

Removing this redundant asset will:
1) eliminate associated on-going operational and maintenance costs of this asset into the future,
2) remove associated Occupational Health & Safety risks to South Gippsland Water (SGW) with this aging infrastructure, and
3) ensure this site is appropriately rehabilitated.

The existing Korumburra Water Treatment plant is located on the Korumburra Warragul Road, Korumburra.
