Annual Vegetation Clearance from Powerlines - Echuca, Kyabram & Rochester

⁠⁠⁠Council conducts and annual program of vegetation clearing from around electric lines to ensure compliance with the Electricity Safety Act 1998, and Electrical Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2015.

The work involves the systematic movement through each street in the urban areas of Echuca, Kyabram and Rochester, pruning back trees/vegetation identified in the annual audit to maintain clear space and allow for regrowth whilst allowing adequate clearance from overhead power lines in accordance with the Act. The work requires all listed identified trees /vegetation within the declared areas to be pruned back to maintain mandatory clearance space as documented in Councils Electric Line Clearance Management Plan 2020-2021(Appendix A) and to allow for regrowth to maintain adequate clearance from overhead power lines to comply with the Act. All street tree pruning works are to be in accordance with AS 4373-2007

In addition, the successful contractor will also be required to undertake crown raising in accordance with Council’s Service Level Agreement of 2.4 metres for footpath clearance and up to 4.6 metres clearance for kerb and channel where possible or at the direction of Council’s representative. The works also include sight line clearance for safe traffic flow at intersections.
