Provision of Animal Shelter Services

⁠⁠⁠Warrnambool City Council owns a Pound Shelter facility (the Premises) and Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced service providers to manage the premises and care for cats and dogs that are impounded by Warrnambool City Council rangers, or are surrended to, or brought to the shelter by members of the public from residents of the Warrnambool Municipality.

Council is seeking tenders for the provision of a high quality, readily accessible, responsive and cost effective pound service, which satisfies Council’s statutory obligations and objectives outlined in Council’s Domestic Animal Management Plan.

The scope of the service includes receipt of contained lost and stray animals, care for animals and releasing animals to owners in accordance with the Act and the Code of Practice for the Management of Dogs and Cats in Shelters and Pounds. Also included in this service is the release or disposal of animals, registration of unregistered animals that are rehoused, promotion of responsible pet ownership and public education.

In addition to the services required in the specification, Council encourages submission of tenders from parties interested in enhancing the service provided from the premises to include additional domestic animal related services. Eg. veterinarian services or other similar services.
