Tender Description
Tauranga High and District Courts deliver judicial services to the Bay of Plenty region. The Ministry of Justice (Ministry) has identified the need for a new segregated access route to the jury retiring room adjoining Courtroom 3.
The Ministry invites suitably qualified tenderers to respond to this Request for Tender for works at the Tauranga High and District Courts to resolve issues regarding potential Jury contamination. Currently, the jury retiring room adjoining Courtroom 3 can only be accessed via the public area and the public footpath on McLean Street. This means that jurors are exposed to, and can be confronted by, family or friends of an aggrieved victim or defendant.
Works within the Tauranga High court are comprised of the following:
- Demolish and relocate two public interview rooms.
- Construct a new secure stair.
- Create a new jury retiring room.
- Install a new second exit route to the Jury Assembly Area.
Works in the Tauranga High and District Courts can be completed during the Courts operational hours providing there is no noisy works being undertaken that could disrupt the Courts daily operations.
