Whole of Practice Immunisation Quality Improvement Project

⁠⁠⁠Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) invites expressions of interest for the Whole of Practice Immunisation Quality Improvement Module. Please ensure you read all parts of the EOI to understand the process for lodging a response.

EMPHN is looking for 5 general practices in its catchment to assist in the development of a Whole of Practice Immunisation Quality Improvement Module. EMPHN wants to define the characteristics of a high quality immunisation service and the roles played by both clinical and non-clinical team members.

Selected clinics will undertake a nine month process to review their current policies and procedures and undertake Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycles to improve their service. A team member, either clinical or non-clinical, will undertake an external course that complies with the National Framework for Immunisation Education paid for out of the contract funding. An analysis of the clinics’ experiences will inform the Whole of Practice QI Module that will be available to practices across the EMPHN catchment in the future.

Objectives:

• Develop a high functioning general practice team.
• Practice team to develop and deliver a high quality immunisation service including cold chain management.
• Efficient use of immunisation data; uploading immunisation records to AIR and investigating immunisation data for quality improvement.
• Increase in childhood immunisations for practice population.
