Chiller Plant Replacement for Jane Bell House - Melbourne Health

Melbourne Health (MH) invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to submit a proposal to Supply and Install Chiller Plant Replacement to Jane Bell House, Melbourne Health.

10 Wreckyn Street, also referred to as Jane Bell House, was previously the Victorian Infectious Disease Reference Laboratory however has since been converted to an office building incorporating Melbourne Health staff.

The building incorporates:

• A basement level including a seminar room and bike storage and shower facilities (level 1).
• A street entry foyer and general open plan office space (level 2).
• General open plan office area with meeting rooms and kitchen break out areas on level 3 & 4.
• A rooftop including the chillers, ventilation fans, air conditioning condensing units and boiler plant is located above level 4.

As part of the office alterations several existing air handling units have since been converted to utilise recycled return air rather than 100% outdoor air, thereby reducing the overall peak cooling demand in summer and required capacity of the chiller.

The air cooled chiller operates on R22 refrigerant, has reached its end of serviceable life and is due for replacement.

As such, the objective of this review is to determine the most suitable chiller plant size for the chiller replacement.
