EOI - Members of the Audit and Risk Committee

⁠⁠⁠Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably qualified individuals for appointment as an Independent Member of Whanganui District Council’s Audit and Risk Committee.

Whanganui District Council is seeking to fill two external positions on our Audit and Risk Committee, with one of the positions also having future responsibility for chairing the Committee.

The purpose of the Audit and Risk Committee includes assisting the Council to discharge its responsibilities to exercise due care, diligence and skills in relation to the oversight of:

• The robustness of risk management systems, processes and practices including regular review of the Risk Register
• The delivery of the internal audit work programme
• The robustness of the internal control framework and financial management policies
• Reviewing the Council’s Fraud and Protected Disclosures policies, and other relevant policies and procedures
• The oversight of risk management and assurance across the Council’s CCOs (Council Controlled Organisations) with respect to risk that is significant to the Council.
