Tender Description
The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking Expressions of Interest for the operation of the hospitality services within the cafe, along with the accommodation facility, at Siding Spring Observatory. The business venture has two centres, as follows:
- The Cafe & Visitor Centre - Souvenirs, and cafe related services.
- The Lodge - 18 ensuite private rooms, 80 seat seminar room, full commercial kitchen - catering, cleaning, laundry and related services.
The Siding Spring Observatory, located just outside Coonabarabran in the Warrumbungle National Park, is a major tourism offering within the Coonabarabran Warrumbungle Shire region.
The site includes major astronomy installations, a local scientific community, and on-site staff housing. The Visitor Centre is linked to the Cafe and attracts approximately 25,000 visitors per annum. Annual open day is a major attraction for visitors to the region, attracting over 2,000 visitors.
The University welcomes Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced and motivated operators.
